I'm in the process of a body-off-frame restoration/modification on my 1977 Corvette. The old color was Desert Tan with a Dark Brown interior; I'm changing the colors to British Green (a 1968 color) with Black interior. Several weeks ago, I purchased several cans of black vinyl dye and vinyl dye primer from Corvette America; I tried the dye on several interior parts and was surprised that the painted surfaces came out with a glossy finish instead of a semi-flat satin finish that most interior parts have. Don't we have something that works so we can make the painted interior look stock instead of an obviously painted shiny finish that looks like crap?

Biz:
I had the same experience and have opted for Krylon's satin finish semi-gloss. It may not pass muster with the NCRS gang, but it looks pretty good to my eye.
Regards-

i re-dyed several parts in my 69 green/green's interior. i went to my auto paint supplier and they mixed a pint of SEM interior dye. worked great and the finish was semi-flat.

What about painting the seats and other interior parts the same as you paint the car? I was told not to use interior spray paint because it's just cheap paint. If you use the car paint then it is much better paint and it will match your car exactly.
