I bought my C5 so I would'nt have to drive the 57 in the NE winters anymore.(Not because I did'nt want to get it dirty, but because the wipers and defroster suck.) I bought it in Aug.99 and have over 80k on it now. So the C5 is my beater with a heater.

IT MAY HAVE BUGS.....IT MAY HAVE CHIPS......BUT ONE THINGS FOR SURE I DRIVE THIS ***** !!!!!

"Its my car and I'll do whatever I damn well please with it"

My favorite quote from a 70 something guy to a NCRS guy that was telling him what he should do with his car

First off I don't give a s@*t what you do with your car as long as you don't give a s@*t what I do with mine.

PS Caps is shouting

Gentlemen....Please! There is no need for a shouting match or implied cursing!! Whether one drives one's car every day or during the winter is each person's choice. Let's behave like ladies and gentlemen, shall we?

Thanks.

I drive my White 2002 Coupe every day and every day I have a smile on my face. This car is an absolute joy to live with, very comfortable and worth every penny. I park it outside my office in front of the window and keep an eye on it. I have it detailed every couple of months and do tend to baby it, but it takes good care of me. I try to keep out of trouble with it and have done a good job so far (except when some Mustang trys to cause trouble, taken care of, no sweat).
Overall, love this car, drive it every day, its a pleasure to live with.

I drive mine everyday, but then that's all I own (2 'vettes). Glad I live in a nice climate. :J

Today we're having a "winter" blast of cold air coming through. It's a chilly :eyerole 56 F right now this morning. :dance

I drive the red one most often, due to carrying capacity.

Apparently you don't see the razz and laugh smileys on your screen.
It was tongue in cheek.

My caps were to emphasise my mantra. I was not yelling at anyone.
The whole thing was obviously not in caps, but thankyou for your astute observation. I never would have known if not for you.
:eyerole

My point was to each his own. Its your car do what you want.

I did not trash anyones opinion.

Sorry you did not understand.

I am going out to switch my winter blades back to summer now.:t

I can't believe I can't refer to my car ( an inatimate object ) as a B
Sorry if I offended anyone:beer

Jeesh......all I wanted to know was whether anyone was accumulating significant mileage on their Vette.......

Didn't want to start any major debates!

I purchased a new 2003 EB convertible 3 weeks ago, it now has 3600 miles. Its a daily driver. Why save a car so the next guy (girl) can enjoy it?

I got my 99 pewter/black coupe 2 weeks ago and I have driven it every day and hope to continue. It is a blast to drive! I just drove it from the coast of NC to Bowling Green, KY. I cannot tell you how much fun it was to drive from Asheville to Knoxville!!

I drive my triple black 2000 roadster everyday - 80% of the time with the top down. I love living in Florida!!! Two years ago I was diagnosed with "Parkinson's Disease" (at 44). After that, I decided to drive something I enjoyed - as long as I could.

I also gave up two wheels for four about 10 years ago. I had just broken my neck for the second time on my Harley. I rode Harleys for 18 years every day rain or shine and twice in the snow(I live in Vegas and it has only snowed 4 times in the 35 years I have lived here). I have since had 5 Corvettes and every one has been a daily driver. Life is no Dress Rehearsal, have fun when you can while you can.:upthumbs

I drive mine quite a bit too. However, I don't drive it to work too often as I only live about 2 miles from work.

When I bought my car in Oct of 02, it had 500 miles on it from dealer driving. When I left for the gulf on 14 Feb 03 it had about 4000 miles on it including a bit of driving on snow.

First thing I am going to do when I get back is take a nice looooong drive in it!

Well, that and take a shower longer than 3 minutes!

I bought my 97 C5 Feb 2000 with 222 miles on it. The first year I put 22,000 on it. I then took a regular job with a 200 mile daily commute. This week I will go over 130,000 miles. I take it to the drag strip 3 or 4 times a year, and have run it around thunder hill a couple of times.
So IMHO this can can take a beating if you wish to do so.

My car has 85,000 daily driven miles on it. Rain, sleet, snow or shine its driving time. :Steer

We bought our vette in Oct 02 and we have almost 10k miles on it. My wife drives it to work most of the time. I drive it to work once in awhile but I also live 105 miles one way from work.

Daily driver last six months snow and all. Love it!! No problems, getting close to first oil change.:pat

I have other machines for the daily grind :beer

Driving Issues

Live in the Northeast and see no reason to tempt the hand of fate with a $50K sports car in the snow. I also consider very carefully where I will drive the car to and what the parking arrangements will be. Does that mean I have issues - you bet. This is the 4th Corvette I owned and every one of them were treated the same. They held top dollar value and the next owner was glad I had a few issues.

Anyone who has passion for sports cars usually drives them any chance they can get. You put up with mechanical/electrical gremlins, rough ride, expensive replacement parts and weekends in the driveway with scuffed knuckles covered in grease, dirt and coolant. But when you hit a smooth stretch of curvey highway and take in the experience of driving a performance car, it makes it all worth it.
