Driver Information Center Scrolls By Itself

Need help solving this problem. Over the last 2 years or so my 97 vette devoloped a problem where the driver info center screen would scroll through the options menu by itself. The dealer stated that the options button showed up as stuck in the closed position, and quoted me like 1400 bucks to replace the instrument cluster. I found the replacement button assembly online for $85 and replaced it. worked great for like 15 minutes and then same thing happened..... there must be a short in wiring harnes... etc... Anyone out there know where the harness attaches... runs etc....or if a wiring diagram is easily accessible online? Thanks for the help in advance... Stino7

Hi there,
You would need to disconnect the switch and see if it continues.
Just remember, its not that the voltage itself is constant, it could be that the cluster internally is shorted.
In this case, its possible that the dealership was right.
I can say that personally, I have seen this condition 2 times.
