dropping the starter on a '72

Tonyk,
Having a 4 speed should make no difference. My 68 is a 4 speed and the starter removal is a breeze......

It really IS that easy. I pulled the starter to replace a worn looking solenoid. I painted both the starter and solenoid with high temp paint, installed a heat shield around the solenoid and cleaned the starter bolts. I think (not sure) that some starters may have shims to space them away from the flywheel. Just be aware that you could possibly have some shims in there. If so, just make note of it and replace them when reinstalling the starter. Otherwise a very easy project.

Well, I can now say been there...done that. It was easy. Thanks guys...
