I was trying to get my EGR tube on the passanger side off of my 1990. One of the damn bolts just isn't coming out....should be a piece of cake. I have tried heat, penetrating oil, dremel....nothing working.
The torx bolt was the first to go, it got stripped easy. Iam now at the point of dremel, squaring off the head so I can get bite on it with vice grips. Hopefully this works.
BUT my main concern is: How important is that pipe. It looks like it either pushes into or is welded right to the exhaust manifold? Anybody know? It is slightly cracked but not broken off. I would say 1/4 crack. I pushed it back into place to re-seal the crack best I could. Am I going to hurt the performance or anything to my car with it like this? I really don't want to have to take the whole exhaust manifold off and have to replace cause of this thing.
any thoughts
