Ever wonder, what the rest of the story was on the white 88 w/the wrong red interior?

I was saw this and it lists the car as white w/ tan interior - and the description makes me cringe :eek

Seems like there is some "behind the scenes" knowledge about this car (or 2 cars). Is the VIN # the same as the "totalled" car? Does this new one have an "R" title or ?? Where is the pictured car listed for-sale?

Eric, the pictured car was re-listed on e-bay about two years ago, it sold for a WAY low price around 18k - Surf&Sun has more info on this one, as he was slated to buy it before he bought his red 88 B2K
Last I heard, the new owner of that white car placed it into a Corvette museum...

I was shopping that car hard when it was on Ebay. I spoke to the guy who owned the car was a total jerk. He was cursing the whole time we spoked. It took me asking several times to get info and VIN from him. Once I got the VIN I carfaxed it and called Joanne. Carfax showed it had a rebuilt title and while she didn't go into specifics, Joanne told me this was not the car I was looking for. ;)

When I confronted the seller he told me the car had been in a minor accident and when he had a couple of body panels replaced he upgraded to Aerobody. He also told me the reserve on the car was 23.5k on ebay and he'd stop the auction then and sell it to me. I declined. The auction continued and the reserve was met at 18k :eyerole:

The guy who bought it came here looking to sell it shortly after he bought it. I offered him 14k for it and he declined. Eventually it sold to the museum.
