I just bought a 1975 vette and am going to be putting in some headers and doing some maintenance work on it. So i'm in the process of replacing the timing chain, but I've reached the point where you need to put in the timing cover and can't get it in. I understand that if I lower the oil pan just a little I should be able to get it in but the oil pan has probably never been dropped on this car so it's not exactly cooperating.
Does anyone have any suggestions for removing an oil pan that's all but super-glued on and has been for the last 30 years? I've removed all the bolts but the blasted pan still won't come off, i've also tried 'lightly' banging on it with a rubber mallet, prying it with a screwdriver (and several other tools).
Also regarding headers, any brand/model suggestions would be appreciated.
