Greetings All, i'm replacing the leaking radiator in my 75 & i'm thinking
about putting in an electric cooling fan, which leads me to a question.
can i ditch the stock fan shroud, & just mount the puller type elect.
fan assy. directly to the back side of the radiator?
Thanks, George:beer

Well, depending on your driving habits, I see you in Wisconsin, so for most of the year, make that 9-10 months you will be fine, but you need a/c or lots of stop/go driving in town, in summer, you maybe wanting a shroud....pulls through the entire radiator instead of just maybe 16 inches of it's surface....

I posted on your CF question - but w/ shroud or not

the e-fans use a DIFFERENT shroud. Since e-fans are mounted as close as possible to the radiator surface, if you use a shroud with one, it's of a considerably different (and more friendly) design than the original. The SPAL/DeWitts one has some cool vents on it.

As I mentioned on the other post - there have been a number of recent threads on this subject with some really good info on both sites.

You should check out the DeWitts product line. They specialize in 'direct-fit' Corvette radiators and also offer dual electric SPAL fans. Check out:
