Help with Numbers Matching!

Alright, so if the block was the only replacement part what does that do to the originality? If the heads, intake, and carb get me any points? Or does it not matter without the original block? Im just curious, because it will be good to know when it comes time to deciding wether or not to keep the old engine around if I get a crate.

I have an 80 L82 also. I went with a crate. Then again, I'm not going for Top Flight...

FWIW- I have an L82 engine that is needs a rebuild that I'd give up for $100. It is the OEM block, heads, cam, etc. Any takers would need to come pick it up.

...So, why can this sourse find out info about the build sheet when the factory cannot????...

GM contracted with Allied-Vaughn to put some of their dealer invoices on microfiche. Contact Allied-Vaughn through the forum.http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/infosearch/index.php?cmd=area

They will need your complete VIN and your credit card. They will search their microfiche records for your VIN; if they find your VIN in their records, they will charge $50 for a .pdf copy of the dealer invoice for your Corvette.

I was able to obtain the dealer invoice for my '80 through Allied-Vaughn. No complaints.

While they were complied from the same data, the dealer invoice differs from the buildsheet/tank sticker in that it lists prices for the Corvette and the options; shipping information; original receiving dealer; etc., and will be legible.

:)

Alllied-Vaughn can get you a copy of the original Dealer Wholesale Invoice for $50.00; has everything you want to know about how the car was built.

+1. John I think you were the one who recommended this to me about a year ago, its definitely a cool thing to have dskopp. I had found my original tank sticker up on the tank, but it was so weathered it was illegible. The invoice is a great reference for original RPOs and other interesting information. Theyre great, once you order it they email you a copy immediately while the paper copy is in the mail.
