Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Hideous... Simply Hideous...

George Barris would be proud! That's gotta be his work...The work that went into that car is incredible, that's a one piece front end! Many show cars from that era didn't run or were just plain unsafe (like the Corvette Summer car, it could be driven but it was a death trap). The seller never states the car runs or drives in the ad, whether it runs or not it is amazing it survives. To bad it's not on the west coast or I'd go have a look, I would sure as heck drive it I'd be LMAO at every Corvette show!

Yea, I think its pretty groovy!

Can see it hitting the car shows as a true vintage show car. Put some charlie's angels models around it and you are set! (or maybe Foxy Brown)

It's Freedom Rock, Man!

FUGLY...simply FUGLY...I wonder if there will be anything like that at Carlisle? Would anyone have the guts to bring it? Is is a Maxx Vette?:eyerole

It still isn't as bad as that C4(?) that was posted here awhile back.

It was the (gaudy) one with what seemed to be coins or medallions of some kind glued all over it.

Yikes! <<shudder>> I swear I won't do anything like that! its so tacky!
and 2 days left and no bids??!!

a FORD ENGINE?? have they gone mad!
Please post a warning next time you folks post such hideous things ;-)

I'm with those who have commented on the period correctness of it. It reminds me of a mid-year that shows up at Carlisle every year. It is actually a similar color to this car but has flowers all over it along with some pretty wild body and interior mods.

I'm sure this thing was, uhmmm, groovy (?) in its day:D.

I'm trying to figure out if it belonged to Hutch or Huggy Bear??? We all know what Starsky drove....

I think it's great to see something other than all those "PC" Corvettes that seem to be around these days. I wish I had the means and creativity to try something like that. What a blast that must have been to drive.

Survivor customs deserve the same respect as the NCRS type cars do.

I agree and I'm a steadfast NCRS member. In some ways cars like that are more of a time capsule than the pure restored cars. - Eric

Hey Eric

We all know what you do with time capsules....................BURY THEM!!!!!!!
Trouble is someone, someday may dig it up again ;LOL

Theres a differance between customizing.............and a visual offence!!!
Still each to there own - eh?

:beer

I like the fire extinguisher under the hood.... like if there was a fire, someone would take the time to lift the hood to go looking for a fire extinguisher!!

As bizarre as it looks now, this thing should be donated to a museum. Nowadays, anyone who did that to a Vette would find himself living in a room with rubber walls, wearing the jacket with the long sleeves... but back then...

Quite a few C2s got that kind treatment as well. Of course, because of the rising values, they've all been "resurrected" and, strangely, they're all "numbers matching" big blocks now... :eyerole
