hooker 2149's & #7 spark plug

I do not know how I changed the #7 plug with these hooker 2149 headers last time but I need some advise. I cant torque the plug down with a conventional socket & wrench because there is not enough room. I got a open end wrench and could not tighten it down. Kept sliping off. I jacked up the car and thought I had a good grip on the plug but I snapped the plug and now I gotta buy another spark plug.

Any suggestions? Im getting my ass kicked by these hooker headers.

I am barely able to get a wrench over my plug socket on #7. Torque it: HA! Like the bolts on the SuperRam, which are the biggest PITA of any, I did my best, using the torque wrench built into my arms, to get them snugged properly and evenly.

While I was not happy with it, that (TPIS) header tube had to be 'dimpled' a bit for access.

I would give a box end wrench a try. I have been known to cut or cut and bend wrenches with a torch for difficult applications. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.

Have you tried a swivel socket? You have to be careful, or you will snap it off again, but that's how I get to #3 on my Hooker 2233 sidemounts.

I had to sacrifice a socket to get to #7 on mine; I cut it down and ground four flat sides on it so I could use an open-end wrench. Do you have a Gear Ratchet™ set? Sometimes they'll come in real handy.

I cut down a cheap spark plug socket about 1/2" and can use that with an open wrench to get at my #6 plug, which is the tough one with my headers. Not sure what your setup looks like.
