I had an answer on the Forum and lost it. Seat belt light and the
Infl Rest, light staying on. Answer on forum said something about ground somewhere near the engine. 1990 ZR-1, 15,445 miles, running excellent in normal and power mode, no electrical problems anywhere.
Appreciate any info,
Boatman

Hi Boatman, I remember seeing a post about that. If I remember correctly it has to do with the possible corrosion under the airbag sensor on the top of the right front frame rail, sometimes the sensor on the left front also. The place where the sensor is mounted is subject to water run-off & gets rusty & the mounting plate looses it's good ground due to the rust. I know it's in the ZR-1 section somewhere, also on ZR1netRegistry under "common issues". The short answer is discon batt, wait 15 min(?) for sys to discharge stored energy, R & R sensor & mounting plate, clean up plate & frame, apply di-electric grease, re-mount sensor(s), Clear codes. On the code clearing I do not know if battery disconnected while you are working will do it! I haven't learned that much yet.

I know I can see both of the sensors on my car by looking down and to the rear of where the A-frame(wishbone) has its upper attachment point. The one thing I know for sure is the book (Helm manual) & C4C5 Specialist says to do batt & fuse for the airbag sys & wait 10 min. before working on sensors. It seems that the sys stores power in a capacitor for awhile. The wiring to the sensors is Yellow & has tags on it so it's easy to id. Tom
