Hi,

I just replaced the battery in my 78 SA. The previous owner had a battery disconnect switch connected to the battery which I reinstalled. You turn the knob on the and it cuts off power to the battery.

I just noticed that since installing the new battery (with the battery disconnect) my interior lights do not turn off. Do you think the two are related? Any recommendations?

Thanks.
Isaac

I doubt if it's anything but a coincidence; interior lights staying on generally signals a problem with one of the door jamb switches or its wiring connection; that circuit is "hot" all the time from battery power, and when you open the door, the switch grounds it through the bulbs, turning on the lights. OR, you inadvertently turned the headlight switch knob all the way counterclockwise to the detent, which turns them on until you turn the knob clockwise out of the detent.

isaac, is there a small guage wire also on the battery disconnect? it's for keeping the memory for radio, computers, etc.. that may allow enough power for the door lights.
or, you may just not have turned the knob far enough to completely disconnect the battery.
