Can you put an LT1 throttlebody on an L-98? If so, could you bolt it right on, and would the IAC sensor hook up to the old plug?

I dont know why not? I will have to try after this week end ,races on friday.:Steer _____________ :Steer

You know who the most popular girl is at the nude beach. The one that can eat the dozzen donuts.:BOW

The IAC plug is different but that is an easy work around. There is also a vacuum fitting on the L98 that is not on the LT1. I think that it is for the EGR but do not remember. Outside of that there is no good reason not to try it with the manual trany. With the Auto gearbox you would have to workout the Transmission Cable fitting and bracket.

Let us know how it goes.:w

OK so some say it won't fit, and some say it will. I can rig up some way to hook the wire harnesses up, really all i wonder about is if it will bolt onto the L-98 plenum. I don't have the LT1 T-body yet, but before I buy one, I want to be sure it fits. I know a guy who has one, only wants 15 bux for it. nice shape too. :D

Redc4corvette,
do you have one of both T-bodys? If so would you be able to measure the distances between the bolt holes for me, to see if it would fit on the L98 plenum?
thanx guys

Yes, the bolt holes are the same. You will still have the Vac line to sort out.
:confused Why swap? The LT1 TB is the same size as the L98 TB and is built even cheeper!!!

For 15 bucks I would buy it ,but check the throttle see if it has any side to side play in it could have a vacuum leak if its that cheap in the shaft.
yes the bolts are the same.

redc4corvette, thanx would you be able to check just one more thing for me? on the L-98 T-body the IAC sensor has 4 wires, does the IAC on the LT1 also have 4 wires? I know the plug is different, but if it has more wires, im not sure i would be able to splice it up right. And is the throttle position sensor have the same amount of wires? thanx

Lt1 has 4 wires

grey

grey with white stripe
green
green with white stripe.
I will have to drive over to the 86 in a couple hours to see if the wires art the same.

Looks like the 86 plugs in on the front and the 94 plugs in the side.

Wires are the same color.:)

GM makes a tool that you can remove the wires in the plug and install the wires in the new plug without cutting wires, make sure you don't mix them up.

aight cool, makes my life so much easier. I think I will give it a shot and see how it works out.

thanx for the help guys
