Can anyone tell me the MAF Burn Off Cycle Duration?
I'm getting a code 36 on my 88 and have found the MAF wire is only heated for about 2 seconds after shutting down the engine (after it has reached operating temperature). Not sure if this is enough time for the ECM to get a good reading or not.
I've researched this but can't seem to locate what the actual time should be. I have seen from 1 to 30 seconds.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Just had code 36 on my 1988. Found MAF Burn off Relay was bad. Easy to trouble shoot. Both relays for this system are behind the battery. I swapped the connectors as the relays are the exact same part number. The error codes changes to 33 and 34 if I remember correctly. Bought a new relay all was well. Do not know hol long burn off relay should be on, but the failure of my relay was welded closed so I believe the ECM would detect this and shut the system down another way and set code 36.

Burn off cycle is only 2 -3 seconds
