Hey guys ! One of our winter drivers is a 1991 Honda Civic 4x4 Wagon.. I know !.. :eyerole

Anyway... it needs a new ( or good used gas tank) Any thoughts on where to get one ? I sort of thought since most of you know alot about automotive stuff that I would ask ! (and I drop wingnuts down the carb ).:L I have looked everywhere !..

What do you guys drive in the winter ?:upthumbs

Don't feel bad, I drove a 93 (I think it was) civic hatchback as a DD until it got totalled by a truck in 2004. It was a good beater car.

Don't know where to get a gas tank for it though- my first guess would be a salvage yard!

try Ebay also there is a seller who sells tanks, dont know about Hondas though. a boneyard will be the next bet but if it has sat around for any legnth of time the old gas may cause you problems, may be easier to buy another Honda. ;)

BTW I drive my C5 unless there is snow on the roads then its and old Blazer.

Thanks guys ! Still no tank.. and winter is .. well .. it does not seem to really be winter so far !

I think my only choice is to "invest" another $300 or so into a new tank.. that we finally located. I hate to do this for obvious reasons.. but that is how it goes sometimes ! Thanks guys !

While it is common with our older Corvettes;in our Family we have two cars that have more in repairs then they cost to buy; my winter beater is a 89 Blazer I paid $700 for two years ago. I have put $1200 (trans, exhaust) in it this year and still need tires bad. Hard to hunt out of a Vette.

Craig jr bought his Grandfathers escort wagon after he died for $150; last year the head cracked about $400 in parts to repair.
those figures are not including routine maintenance.

I guess owning older cars you get used to it.;LOL

I need a starter car for the new driver(my son). I was thinking of going to a Salvation Army donatated auto auction. Anyone have any experience with this type of auctions? Positive or negative. Thanks
