I got the "Underhood Lamp Switch" kit from Mid America, that lets you
turn off the Hood Lamps while the hood is up to save your battery.
It's "almost" right. Unfortunately it changes the lamp wiring from parallel
to series - both lights are now in series, providing only half the light,
and if one lamp is out - they're both off.
A slight change would fix that problem - use a dpdt switch, and connect
the harness to both hood lamp feeds.
But I can't locate a source for the additional connector I need.
It's the same as the present connector attached to the end of the
lamp's end of the harness. delco part no 12015792.
Dealer can't get it (he can get a complete hew harness for $50), but
not just the connector. No luck at NAPA either.
Any suggestions ?
