Hey Fellow Ohioans!
We have a chance to finally get rid of the front plate. HB 133 is currently before the Transportation Committee. Contact your State Representative, Bill Sponsors and Cosponsors and insist that they make this the law in Ohio. The law enforcement lobby will oppose the bill claiming that it would impede law enforcement in their performance. What about motorcycles, temporary tags, and every out of state driver from any of the states that border Ohio? Are they at some sort of advantage in avoiding detection because they do not have a front plate?
How many crimes or traffic offenses are resolved as the result of a cop seeing a front plate? I walked by a local police dept. parking lot the other day. Of the cars I could see from outside of the fence where safety dept. employees park their cars, three out of eight did not have a front plate! (Mustang, newer Camaro and Miata) Just observe several vehicles in any parking lot. See how many do not display the front plate.
