I also change the oil every 12-15 thousand miles but change the oil filter every 3500, to 4000 miles.
Mobil 1 works for me
How the heck can you change the filter without drooping oil ?
I think you'll find the filter intake is higher than the oil pan level .It is true that the weakest link of synthetic oil change is usually the filter. As I always change my oil at 50-70% I don't worry to much.Early oil changes are not really necessary but it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Junkies homemade jet fuel .Gives ya that warm feelin' and leaves ya fuzzy .If your not lucky to have some try a good Kentucky Bourbon.I can go along with the warm, but how do you get fuzzy?

The point is that premature oil changes and specialty synthetic oils probably won't do much of anything for the average owner except waste a little money .But it makes the owner feel good and I like to feel good.
