question about oil

the guy i bought the car from ( the engine has less than 600 miles on it) did 2 oil changes, and since the last one i put about 100 miles on it, and both times he used mobil 1 synthetic and i always thought that synthetic oil wasnt supposed to be used in engines with less than 10k on them? am i wrong? what oild should i use? i got a 76 stingray with 383 in it.

It is the factory fill on new Vettes, engines with 0 miles.

Not only is Corvette Mobil 1 factory so are all Porsches, Mercedes-Benz AMG models, Dodge Viper, Ford Mustang Cobra R and all Aston Martin cars.
