Anyone have a cure for rear leaf spring squeak or creak?

My 81 rear springs sqeak some when going over a dip etc.

The leafs look like new and the spacers or liners look good as well, and there is no suspension sag or leaf damage.

I did replace the rear leaf bushings last year also.

Tried spaying some NAPA Blaster
lubricant earlier this year and that quieted it for a while.

The local corvette shop said that sometimes is normal for older c-3s

Only really hear the noise if I am driving very slowly and have the radio off.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Ken

Drive FAST and turn the Radio UP!!!!!;LOL;LOL;LOL

Fiberglass spring or steel? For steel, you could consider lubing the spring liners, but you'd have to remove the spring, disassemble it, lube, reassemble, and install it back under the car. Personally, I'd live with it and keep the tunes on.

On fiberglass springs, there isn't a whole lot to squeak. Another shot of WD40 or equivalent might help.

By any chance you used polyurethane bushings as replacement?

Gerry,

I got the replacement bushing kits from NAPA and the bushings themselves are rubber.
