Sad Split Window in Car Craft

You noticed that too huh? I only got about half way down that thread when the sniping started and that was the end for me. Maybe I shouldn't say anything but it seems like every time I go there to read something of interest I never get through it.

I had a pile of pan head once too. I never got mine together though. And of course, I wish I had it back. On a happier note I got my first car from a guy who never was going to sell it. It was a '39 Ford Deluxe 2 door with a 265 Chevy., lowered a little and cool. After he and his brother quit driving it the car just sat out back for several years. I always talked about it and wanted it and one day a friend said "Jim told me to tell you the '39 is for sale". We charged the battery, blew up the tires and put some gas in it and I drove it home (3 blocks without brakes, I was 16). A brand new $5. master cylinder later and it was good times.

Gees RJ, pains me to see an Ontario plate on that!!

Where in Ontario is it?

Ron
RonJ(eremy?): It was down around Huntsville. He says he is going to restore it but the sad truth of at least some of these tales of tragedy is that the car will continue to worsen in condition until there is nothing left to salvage. The owners won't sell to a motivated restorer unless offered near the restored price. In some cases, there may be sentimental value in the car offset by laziness/ignorance (or they wouldn't be sitting there rotting) or, in this case, refusal to part with it based on orneriness and cantankerism. "I ain't gonna fix 'er up but neither are you, smart-alec."

The above posts about procrastinators are far too kind.

THEY ARE CRAZY!

I can't stand to even talk to them anymore. I won't beg those lunatic owners to act. Life is too short to mess with such nuts, and there are still plenty of other cars out there to be restored.
Count me in as crazy :crazy here are a couple pics of some of my stash (I have more), same story, GTO's Trans Am's, Corvettes, SS chevelles, ect. one day I do plan on restoring them all!! :D

If he's around Huntsville, he's not that far from the Barrie Flea Market at Burl's Creek, Ontario's answer to Hershey ... <G>. He must see some pretty 'vettes go by and figures that's what he'll have one day. N O T !!

Dennis,

You've got some work ahead of you. :D

Just today, I got the contact info for a local guy who has 400 (yes 400) old cars. Their primary use is for movie shoots. Right now he's looking for 7 El Caminos. :crazy

If'n he drives 7 Elkys off'n a dang cliff, there'll be some serious killin' goin' on. :r

El Camino's?!

Errrr-I've got 2 70's and 2 72's. Work in progress......only 1 has the engine in it still. 2 engines are on stands ready to drop back in.

I'll be selling 1 around May-maybe. This ain't no Monster Garage. I'm the only mechanic and I have a full time job (sigh).

Someone needs to call "Overhaulin'" and help me with my wife's '67 GTO. I've had it down a couple of years now. I promised her this summer. ;help

Rick

DAAAYYYUUUMMM!!!! I'd give my left arm for that sweet '70 Vette! What is wrong with those people?! I'm dying to have a C3... and there sits one... rotting away... in JERSEY!!!!! :eyerole :mad :cry

Susan

If you like looking at cars rotting, here's an interesting web site call "Bowties in Barns" or "Rotting American Muscle".
