I am in the process of building a 383. I am planning to internally balance the engine. I bought the wrong crank and this crank can only be EXTERNALLY balanced. The cam I bought is a custom ground 1 inch base circle Comp Cam 12-250-5 extreme energy. I got the custom grind because I planned to use the original 5.7 rods. After disassembly of the block I bought I found the rods were from an already used 350 truck motor and became suspicious of the rod condition, so if I gotta buy new ones, I'm going to 6 inch. ( I am crating the original vette 350) so I bought this block sight unseen and am now paying the price....in more ways than one.

To make a long story short I am changing to an internally balanced crank ( forged SCAT) and 6 inch rods, so I'm planning to sell the crank and cam combo for $300 ( you pay shipping ). If you are interested, I can send pictures and info about the crank and cam, they have NEVER been run in the motor, they were placed in with new bearings to check and file clearance issues. I have since bought a new crank and cam as the design has changed considerably since I started.

I thought I'd offer it up here before I post it on E-Bay to any of you who may be interested in taking on a winter project for a 383.............you can't beat the price.
Please feel free to email or PM and I can send info as needed.

Paul.

My son is building a motor this winter. He may be interested in your crank. What sizes are the bearing journals?

They are standard 350 block journals, no boring required, bolt in. I can actually measure them if you want on the crank, let me know.
