Hi all, I'm new to this forum and have a problem with my 07 Z. the car has bolt on's only, KOOKs headers with cats, stock mufflers, BREMBO 14" gt brakes with SS brake lines, PHADT coil-overs and street sway bars, NITTO INVO's 275/35X18 and 345/30X19's on stock rims.. After putting on the brakes and new tires i started getting the "service active handling" in the DIC with the icon on gauge... However it does not throw a code..reader shows no codes. i can clear the DIC message and after several starting cycles it is fine then after a time it starts again.. No adverse effect on performance at all...NO CODE?

thanks, EJ:ohnoes

Hi there,
There will be a code.
You will need a Tech 2 to see it.
My first guess would be your tire size creating erratic signals to the EBTCM, but that is only a guess.

thanks, can the tire size be changed in the "tune" to remedy this? EJ

Most code readers will only read PCM codes. I found software that will read most of the other module codes for a lot less than a Tech II. http://www.obd2.com/
The have a version for Corvettes only. As I recall it was about $450.

Check the wiring harness @ the steering column. "Tight wires" have caused "service active handling" warnings.

nitto invo

Hi--
I just ordered Nittos front and rear--will get them on next week. I will let you know if I get the same active handling message from the 345s being 1/2 inch taller than stock 325s.

Oversize Nitto rears

I got the Nitto Invos put on a couple weeks ago. The fronts are stock size (275/35/18) and the rears are a bit larger than stock (345/30/19, instead of 325s). After several hundred miles, I haven't had any error messages or problems with the traction control.
I think the Nittos are quieter, smoother, and stickier than stock Goodyears. At least on dry pavement--not sure yet about wet conditions. So far I like 'em!
