I'm confused on what spark plugs to use on my stock '67 427/390hp. I've been told that the OE plugs are R43's or 43's that could be bought at Auto Zone. I've heard that the non-resistor version is not made anymore and the resistor will cut down on what may already be a marginal spark. I have replace the points with an elctronic version , but am still using the stock coil, distributor, and groundeed spark plug wires. I have also heard that I need to use a 44 or 45 for street use. Others have suggested using NGK or Denso plugs they donh't have resistors.

Help?

What plugs should I use?

Should I replace the wires? They look good with no corrosion, but would
I be better off with a silicoln set with suppression?

Use R45XLS 43`s are too cold. :upthumbs

R45XLS are the correct big-block plugs, and will serve you well; forget any version of 43's - they're WAY too cold for normal street use.
