This video is the reason why I have no respect for Top Gear when they review a Corvette.

Granted the car in this video is a Porsche 911, but regardless, if you're an automotive enthusiast, in my opinion, what's done to this Porsche is a sin.

What an idiot...."lets run into the side of a barn...." :ugh Oh well they can keep their German crap over there I am just fine with my Corvette.

I guess I just don't get British comedy? :confused

That is just plane sad....not a bit funny. What an idiot.

Rob, i usually take the show more as a Comedy with Cars, then a serious review.. Some bits they do are pretty funny. Though this is way overboard and not funny at all.. Other shows were ok, if you take them as Comedy first and foremost.. ;)

And Justin, calling a Porsche "German crap" isnt very nice.. :(

Some of you guys are too serious and lighten up...The guy who thought that one up was very creative and it is funnier than heck. :L

I don't know.....I just don't see it.

It looked like a perfectly good Porsche to me. If it was a major POS, then it wouldn't matter as much. But the way I look at it....older cars like Porsches, Corvettes.....older collectible cars - are always in need of parts. Old collectible car parts are hard to come by.

What Top Gear did to that Porsche, was a complete waste, hence the reason why I fail to see the humor in it.

Don't get me wrong - I love British comedy and usually understand the dryer side of it than the majority of the U.S. population, but there comes a time where even my sense of humor has limits.

when i was a young man i coveted all 911's and would go to sebring and watch them dominate. seeing Hans Stuck, Hurley Haywood, and Walter Rohrl
drive them was a treat and i would always marvel at the machines capability.
i wanted one so bad for so long as i watched the price climb out of sight.
then something wonderful and magical happened, i thought ya'know ill bet i can get an american built automobile, something with a rich history and properly bred bloodline. ......and that was all it took. i have never looked at the 911's in the same persona again. well accept from the rearview mirror. i dont stare at them longingly, i dont fret over the high maintance cost, i did'nt sell my soul in some faustin manner. but i did get the most satisfying feeling i have ever had in an automobile with my corvette. but i agree with you that this is a unforgivable attempt to show me why i lusted after one for so long.

Sorry for the way that sounded. I did not intend to call a Porsche crap, my dad has had many and they are neat cars. I just feel that they can test all the European cars they want I really dont care. Anybody who will just demolish a car (Everybody remember the C4 they blew up??) in my opinion carries no weight in evaluation anything. In the end the only reason I would take any Porsche is to just sell it and get another vette. Sorry if I affended anyone that was not my intent.

I love the way they praise almost all of "their" cars, but when they tested the base C6 even though it produced good lap times, better then a lot of the other cars they tested. All he could talk about though was the plastic front and rear bumpers, and how tacky the interior was etc etc. Oh well

That show is a joke if you want truthful reviews on sports cars

That Brit is a loon. I "get" British humor-but that wasn't very humorous. It was moronic garbage like that I expect from MTV. Darn shame :eyerole:ugh

I'm with you, Rob.

The Porsche

That car looks like it's 30 years old and a piece of junk. A fitting end to probably a quality control nightmare for someone. At least it's probably disposed of properly rather than rusting and leaking in someone's yard. Oops that's in Europe. Nevermind. Check ouy the latest Car and Driver's pages about "projects that never got finished" and you'll get my drift.

I won't be showing that to my wife who thinks a 911 would be a good addition to our garage...

Hmmmmm.

Almost looks like it burst into flames "before" it hit the redneck mobile home just for effect I'm sure.:eyerole

I think it was just stupid :W , although it did show that the Porsche was strong.
