88 Convert ( SOLD ) /1973 coupe 4 speed/1964 Vert!
So I bought a NEW ( Re Man ) ECM from Mid America to fix a problem...it didn't

So the quarndry I now have is to return my OLD ecm ( Which is fine )

Or keep it......

100 bucks credit to return it...

or have a HOT spare.....

Hmmmmmm stiitng on the fence on this one.

Now mind you... I had the same thinking on my 84... and I still have 2 spares...
sold the car about 2 years ago.

Any thoughts?

Anyone need ECM's

I'd return it also. Use the $100 for something else. Plus, you won't have to look at the ECM lying around for who knows how long.

I have 2

Both Auto... stock chips 1 the check engine light doesn't work but works fine ( serial data to ALDL ok ) the other is 100%

I am debating whether to replace my ECM. Still have a problem with the idle when the 9th injector turns off. I have tried cleaning the TB, replaced the IAC (aftermarket), but still the problem persists. I believe there is some circuit in the ECM that adjusts the idle and may have gone out of spec.

That is great that they will let you return the part even if it is credit, some place will not accept electronic parts. I might try the same thing for trouble shooting purposes and if it resolves the problem great.

BTW, how did the shadow thing pan out? I am with you!!!

Return It

That way, come XMas, you'll already have something for me.:crazy

ECM

Tom..I'm returning my old CORE...not the new one....( The core isn't broke in this case ).

As far as the Shadow thing... the moderators have had a discussion with both of us... things are ....better.

Lou ... WHAT are you talkin about?

XMas..You Know, Santa

The season for giving. Avoid the rush and last minute shopping for my gift.:crazy

So I returned it

Using the following logic,

1) it's 100% somebody else will get some use outa it.

2) It's a 100.00 back in my pocket...minus shipping

3) No one here wanted it.

4) 1 less piece of stuff in my garage.
