Looking for 03-04 salvage Z06 with low miles.
I need this for a project back here in Australia.
Body panels are of no significance, my main priority is to get chassis, suspension and drive train relaively unscathed.
Plan also to use the electronics, instrument cluster, seats etc.

My preference to source from West Coast, but would look at other options.

Appreciate any help out there.

Aussieross,
I'm going to move this thread to the C5 Corvettes For Sale/Wanted Forum.

What are you doing Aussieross

Hey there Aussieross,

What are you thinking of doing with a corvette way down there in Aussie land?

They are also on crack, most of the cars have a buy back of 5,000 on them.

Would you clarify this for me? If you had some specific bad experience, what was it?

I'm doing the same thing you are doing savette68/63

I guess there is no hiding from you now is there?

Ok curiousity has the best of me. Why would you want a salvaged vette?
Will we see it here in the US another day?

Doesn't matter to me if it's a salvage vehicle. If I get the right one it won't be a problem.
I certainly couldn't justify pulling apart a near new undamaged Z06 for my project. Theyr'e expensive enough in the U.S., but would cost us more than double here in Australia ( exchange rates, duties, taxes, freight etc).

The project involves placing a modified C2 Coupe body, with Grand Sport influences on top of this C5 Z06 platfrom, and then fitting magnacharger.
I'm just another crazy Aussie mate, but it'll happen, inspite of the challenges.

Sounds great to me. I would suggest that you could be severely traction limited with that much power. Are you going to build it so that you have extra tire back there?

After those vehicles are wrecked, the insurance company takes an average of what they expect toget at auction. They offer you at that price. Almost all of those vehicles on that page would be around 5K. I didn't see any vehicle there that would be worth the effort to rebuild. Once you get into the frames of a C5, it's not pretty.

sure am, thou we'll decide exactly what size we'll go to during the course of the journey.

Thank you.
I have been remiss in not removing post.
I have acted on advice from the forums, and luckily been successful.

My next challenge is to try and source a '63 split window project car

No doubt you will be right, have not had a lot of success to date, and I've further made my journey more difficult by now honing in on a '63 spilt window
