Take this to some political forum somewhere but NOT here! Got it?
Greenie is right- no picking on those cheese eating surrender monkeys here. Take it to the Edge!

Sorry sweetheart - I was in Williamsburg, VA over the weekend with the family. I should be taken out back and shot. You're still the most beautiful woman in Weymouth.

Man I love the Simpsons!

I think Spyder is the Italian designation for an open topped car, but I've seen it applied to both full convertibles and targas.

Not all french people are the same. My mother is french. It's a little unfair to make generalizations about entire groups of people.

As Erik indicated, it was a Simpsons reference, not a generalization or judgement of any particular group.
Let's move on, folks... :eyerole

On the subject at hand, I usually use 'vert' online but never in conversation. I prefer 'roadster' or 'convertible' in spoken word. Spyder has never been clearly defined for me (I've seen it used for targa and convertible) so I don't use it.

Or remember when Lenny, Carl and Homer were going to jump into the water. Lenny wasn't too thrilled with the idea and said, "I'm shakin' like a French soldier."? :L:L:L

It's joke a joke, people.

For me, I always end up saying convertible. Spyder is too posh for me and I just never really understood the term roadster.
