Which Pushrods?

Beer is good and I may need plenty of it. Bill thanks for the article. Great reading. I have the Pushrod checker tool as you suggested and will use when needed for correct pushrod length. Other then fuel pump and fuel pump pushrod the pushrods are the only part left to get for my project which starts in two weeks. Cylinder Heads should be here soon.

hahahah...this started out as a "I'm gonna replace the cam" and has turned into "I'm gonna replace the entire top-end of the engine" ;LOL
You're one long block away from a crate engine! ;LOL

BTW...Summit has the same March pulleys you mentioned earlier in the thread. I have them on my car. 3 groove...Not because I have AC but because I have redundant belts running to my water pump. After having the OEM pulleys on my ZZ4 and then spinning the belt off on two different occasions, I said to hell with that! Ain't spun a belt since!

(although I'm questioning now since having the underdrive pulleys and the Steeroids if I have enough pulley to fully operate my P/S pump. ;shrug Different topic for a different time...:))

EVO, your exactly right. I went from a simple cam upgrade to a complete top-end rebuild. Every damn part or bolt will be replaced. My brother and I will be doing this project together so that will be fun and a learning experience. I decided to go with the stock pulleys. I start this wonderful project next weekend and I will be documenting every step.

I know not what you speak of, Ralph.....LOL.....:L I will say, after all of this I should of saved a little more and purchased a new motor but it's all good!

We're all behind you, brother! Can't wait to see (and hear) that bad-boy when you're done --- I'm sure it's gonna be schweeeet!

I'm already looking past this project. Next are the U-Joints and side yokes. Then time to partially restore the interior.

Getting back to pushrods, I'm running roller tipped rockers from CC with my 240H cam. I'm also running guideplates for the pushrods. I've always been told that the guideplates require hardened pushrods. The two piece GM pushrods seem to work just fine with the guideplates even though they are not advertised as "hardened". What's up with that? Are they really hardened or does it really matter?

I pulled the pushrods today, among other things, and the pushrods were one piece. I thought they were suppose to be two piece stock pushrods?
