Winter Mods

We still have about 60 days until it's really over. Last winter I sent it to Lingenfelter.
This winter I purchased new tires and wheels.
  • Wheels - C5 Z06 Chrome (18x9.5 front - 18x10.5 rear)
  • Tires - BF Goodrich KDW-2's (255/40 front and 285/40 rear)

Winter just started here. Just when I thought I was safe. :cry

I read this as "winter MEDS" and thought of poor Remo... :chuckle

Jim - thanks for your concern. As you can see I'm doing much better since you
adjusted my winter meds. I'm now confident that I can make it through.

Your pal,

Well, let's see.......

I installed a set of nickle-plated, drilled and slotted rotors.
Installed 18" Z06 wheels all around, 9.5's in front and 10.5's in the back.
Replaced the factory runflats with GY GSD3's.
Replaced the 2.73 gears with HD 3.15 gears from DTE in Fort Wayne
Also had hardened output shafts installed
And the HD Tranny brace, compliments of DTE
And had it retuned to once and for all put an end to that damned "pinging" that's plagued this Vette from the day I bought it.
Put a rear bumper black out on, just for looks.
Replaced the factory taillites with some Black-Cherry ones.
More chrome stuff under the hood.
And bought me a black '62 Stude 4 sp GT Hawk to play around with when I'm not messing with the Vette.

Other than that....I haven't done really much at all.:D

led tail, and license plate lites, oil catch can, under hood carbon fiber goodies and took out the Vett for the first time this year,it felt real good!!!!

Pulled out the points and replaced with an hei that uses my original cap. Replaced my (still working) Wonderbar radio with a unique autosound stereo. There's only so much talk radio and mexican music I could handle. You have to have some sounds when you're driving with the top down. Replaced the (still working) mono dash speaker and added some kick panels with speakers. Also put a cd changer in the trunk. Kept all the original parts. Last but not least, rebuilt the carb.

That's gotta be the sweetest mod of all! Congrats. I went from a 93 to an 02 a couple of years ago. What a difference.

A set of Bilsteins to replace the base o.e. "toothpick" sized shocks. Based on the few drives I got in b4 the onset of snow: my C5 is going to be a lot more FUN in curves this year!!! DFO :D

Gosh, sorry for everyone up north. We drive em here every day. Hard to put them in the shop and fix them up. However, spent time at the dealership today looking at new models. Spring is in the air.

New K&N intake ,white face gauges, millenium yellow interior pieces. Its all laying in boxes until it warms up in the garage
