What recomendations are there for the ZF 6 speed. I've heard any synthetic, BMW 5-30 engine oil. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Redline MTF. Works great.

6 speed trans fluid

After reading about vette owners using BMW M5 engine oil I had the guy who fitted my new clutch fill my trans with this oil. It's manufactured by Castrol and is 10w60 (synthetic engine oil).

My shift feels a lot better than before but then I did have a dying clutch as well so I don't know how much was down to the oil itself.

If you're chaging the trans oil you may as well use this stuff because it's so widely recommended, especially by the zfdocs (www.zfdoc.com) as the best available.

BTW ZF recommend changing the oil every 35,000 miles whereas Chevy don't specify a change interval in the vette. I think that something as potentially pricey to fix as our 6-on-the-floor needs all the help it can get!

Regards, Malc.

I think the best choice is always the tested and proven manufacturers recommendations. Look at your service manual and follow that, you will never be sorry.
