So the planning committee is trying to get an idea of what everyone might like to see in terms of seminars and/or guest speakers? You can be generation specific if you wish.

Examples:

  • Cooling systems for C3's
  • Ignition systems for C4's
  • Detailing seminar (all generations)
  • Suspension mods for C5's
  • Carburetor tuning on C2-C3
  • Engine component selection, such as cams, heads, cranks, etc
  • General discussions with people involved in the manufacture or design of the Corvette, past or present
I just said those off the top of my head. Let me know what you would be interested in attending or who you might like to listen to talk about a particular topic.

The sooner we get feedback from the group, the sooner we can get an itinerary nailed down and get this moving! :thumb

I'll offer my car for the suspension upgrades! They do it all for free, right? In all seriousness, I hope to see some detailing seminars.

I put in for seeing a detailing seminar also. I'm about due for a refresher.
I also wouldn't mind seeing something on C3 suspension, whether that be major upgrades or simple modifications. Or adjusting C3 windows and/or T-Tops.

Can't do to much in 3 days with tours, shows, races, etc. but I would be interested in any type of seminar related to popular DIY bolt on performance enhancers. With the pros VS cons and include such things as CAI's, larger throttle body's or changes in fuel delivery, programers, maybe brake pad replacements, spark plugs, etc. Installation of new interior or seat covers might also be informative.

Bumping this thread to the top...

Once again, the more people we get to come, the more things can be offered, everyone call a buddy and get them to commit to CAC's Cruisefest 2010
Correct detailing is an art, It would be a time worthy seminar for sure.

I would offer my car up for a seminar...whatever it might be. I'll be there so I'm game.

I'm going to try and call tomorrow for my room reservations. June will be here before we know it.

What about getting someone familiar with exhaust setups, and not just for late model cars. There's still plenty of questions that come up for C3's and earlier dealing with various exhaust components and general questions of principles, such as "What is backpressure? Is it needed?" "What kind of changes impact the engine and how?" Those types of questions.

With all do respect, i think seminars for the most part are a little weak, to say the least. What we need are classes and demo's on doing donuts, drifing by a corvette team. Drag strip techneics (is there a local strip so we can play around) and last but not least, 30 mph and up street drags, but done at the local strip. To me that would be some fun stuff. Only my 2 cents worth........................Billy :):):):):):):):):):):):)

So what you're saying, Billy, is that you want to learn how to thrash on that new fancy Callaway that you have there??? :L I'll be your driving instructor. You can ride along shotgun and I'll show you what you want to know. :D

Bashing your machine

With all do respect Andre ( THINK NOT) Now if Rowdy 1 was going to be there i may say yes. LOL But sorry to say he can not come this year........................Your former friend Billy...................................:boogie:boogie:boogie:boogie

I disagree somewhat with Billy about the seminars. I found that C4C5 specialist's (Paul) was one of the most enlightening seminars I have attended on Corvettes. He is very helpful and answers all of the questions. As a World Class Technician, he can provide great insight to most if not all Corvette years. I hope that he will be able to attend the CF. I trust the advice he has provided to me. Billy is correct on some of the seminars that were presented at Fun Fest last fall, they were not too informative. BTW, it would be great if GMJunkie (Jesse) could give us the benefit of his knowledge also. Jesse and Paul as a panel discussion duo to answer our questions, that would be awesome.
Just my two cents worth.

I'm Honored........

It's not very often my name gets mentioned in a positive way any more, that's quite a compliment. Unless I hit the lottery, I won't make it. I'm now done with my job, not by choice but my income has been slashed by more than 2/3. I'm actively seeking work but things as we all know are very bad. Needless to say, if I had the $$$, I'd make the trip just to take that super car for a spin down the 1/4 :thumb Along with seeing everybody of course!!!

Barrett, I would agree with you. Paul and Jesse could be very enlightening.

HI there,

I WILL BE THERE!!!!

Both CAC and MidAmerica have been more than welcoming to me over the years an it IS going to be the best ever.

Now, for those that doubt what seminars can bring, I simply ask that you attend.

I believe I can change your perception of what REAL technical seminars can be.

Allthebest, c4c5

Having attended one of his seminars in Bowling Green, I can attest to what a real joy it is to listen to him. He doesn't talk down or treat any question as dumb. Donuts and drifting belong on the track or a controlled closed off area and strike me (personal opinion here) as kinda ricer. I'd much rather learn about maintaining/taking care of/learning what to watch for in repair shops/tips about my C4 or whatever info I can get....
I'm glad he's coming.

Scott

So glad that you're going to make it, Paul. I listened in on one of your seminars in Bowling Green as well, very informative.

I have a feeling my former;squint: friend, Billy, was employing a bit of sarcasm there. :D

I feel that a How To session on the computer controlled carb for L81 will be well received. There are usually many posts generated by the Rochester and its computer-controlled sibling..;)

SO thanks for including it. :thumb

Maybe Sensei would like to present?
