CD changer
Yo - I have installed the Custom Autosound in-dash unit that controls a remote 6-disc CD changer - I hid it under the jack lid. From the outside it looks totally stock with no bezel cutting - it has the twin post design. But it works well - their speakers are good too - I swapped...
Folks - my boss' wife wants to buy him a 1967 Corvette (preferably convertible) for his 40th - in January. Since I've done this a few times for me and others I am in charge of the search...
Here is the preferance - no show cars, no NCRS Bloomington mark ups. A nice driver without original...
Apples to apples
Here is a different angle...the 82 will only get more valuable and the new ones will depreciate...now, with that said, I have suffered through the same anxiety...a topd down run on a cool fall day changes it all and I come back having fallen in love with my 78 all over...
One other thought on the open air element...
I left the plastic intake snorkel over the radiator in place to get some of that colder air into the compartment but removed the hosing...
Open Intake
I hate to disagree with the rest of the gang but my 1978 came to life with an incredible throttle note and improved performance with an open element - inlcuding the lid - air filter. I have also upgraded my carb, in take, toller tip rockers, enlarged the exhaust and put on DynoMax...
Vapor lock

I've spent over 15 years in professional motorsport and of he cars that actually still use spark plugs, the Bosch Platinums are still the choice - even if sponsored by someone else...
I think EVO1980 is right - more power leads to more breaking - this decision is totally budget driven - you have invested in the car, so continue to invest - the motor should get rebuilt at some time - but maybe not by you - if you want to keep on driving and take advantage of all of the stuff...
I did my 1978 about five years ago - it is not that hard but spend the time to clean the surfaces underneath before reapplying and replace any bad clips - having the right tools helps too. Also the best thing you can do for it when you are done is use the silicon grease to lubricate it and keep...
When I got my 1978 it had a huge vibration at about 70 mph, and it was due entirely to the rear alignment. They are very camber sensative. I took an alignment recommendation from Dick Guldstrand (former Corvette racer and aftermarket supplier) and the settings were perfect. Rear camber is a...
I think one of the current drivers in Formula One said that he is a much better "driver" with both hands on the wheel, and being a great "shifter" was not the same thing...of course their paddle actuated, million dollar controlled autos are a little different...some paddle shift up, some paddle...
