Question: No heat from front defrost on "81

Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me in very simple steps, how I can get heat to come out the top vents just for defrosting purposes. I have no need for any other functionality and do not wish to restore the entire system for anything other than defrosting. I can control the...

Question: Best way to clean rims

What NOT to use!!! I just did this yesterday and it was one of the stupidest things I've done. I wanted the get the brake dust off of my front rims so I sprayed what I THOUGHT was brake cleaner on them, without looking at the label, I sprayed half a can of THROTTLE BODY CLEANER on them...

Will early C3 rocker panels fit on a '82?

My '81 has silver panels. I never really noticed that they are a little long until mkapp7879 just mentioned it. But they fit fine with no clearance issues. They were already on it when I bought it.

    #*&!!$## MICE Invasion!!!

I have also heard of using Bounce sheets. A buddy of mine has stored his 'Cuda like that for years and hasn't had any mice since he started doing it.

    Problem with brake master cylinder

I had 2 bad MC's last year and finally went to a different manufacturer. They were pumping fluid from my rear res. to my front res. causing it to overflow in the front and completely losing the rear brakes.

    Question: Corvette Central Exhaust System?

They are magnaflow mufflers. You can hear a sound bite at CC Exhaust under C3 magnaflow systems. I couldn't resist any more and drove it around the block yesterday. I was very happy with it. I don't know if it's my imagination but it really seems like there's alot more pep.

    Question: Corvette Central Exhaust System?

I just finished replacing my '81 exhaust today as a matter of fact with a complete Corvette Central system almost exactly the same and other than rerouting my tranny coolant lines it was a really good fit for my car. It sounds pretty good but not quite as deep and gutsy as I wanted. My car is...

    Some good advice......lol

exhaust is on.... I am now finished installing the exhaust. It is advertised as a "direct fit" system and it pretty much was. The only mods I had to make were removing the plug wire guards, rerouting the wires over top, rerouting the trans cooling lines (thanks) and I had to gring the end...

    Question: oil pan removal

This may be a stupid question, but why do you have to move the crank to a certain positon to drop the oil pan? And what is the position (and how do I do that);shrug;shrug?

    Some good advice......lol

I have discovered that if you are planning on replacing your exhaust, you should NOT have the car undercoated!!! What a dirty mess. I am in the process of replacing my "sort of" stock exhaust with a whole new system complete with headers that I bought from Corvette Central. It is supposed to...

Question: 1981 sensors and sending units

Hi, Does anyone have a diagram showing the various locations of all of the sensors and sending units on a 1981? Basically if anyone can tell me which units send signals to the gauges it would help alot. I have removed my A/C and A.I.R stuff and am putting a new exhaust on the car. In the...

    Help! Oops!!!!

Well, I successfully removed the AIR pump from my '81, but in the process of removing the top AIR bracket stud, I broke it off right at the block. I wouldn't care but this double as an intake manifold bolt. Am I in trouble or what? There is another bolt within about 1 1/2" of this one and...

    Question: de-cluttering engine compartment

I agree with you on the removal of the stock air cleaner as I have found many other warnings against replacing it. But I do want to remove as much unnecessary stuff (hoses and wires) as possible for no other reason than "it's my car and I want to" LOL. The first thing I NEED to do is replace...
