I have had the "service column lock" message on the DIC for about a week. I also had some flickering of the lights for several months. I took the battery in for testing a couple of times, and was convinced by the automotive people that I did not need a battery. But I kept coming back to that...

Unless you object, I will move this thread to the C4 technical area where it will get more exposure.
Where are you in Idaho? I am in Boise.
My 2002 Z06 does not qualify as a C6, but it has plenty of trips down the strip. My best is 12.42 at 113. My local strip is at about 2800 ft, but the density altitude is typically more like 6000 ft.
If you put some drag radials on there, I would expect an improvement of about 0.3-0.4 seconds...
I do not have a C6, but I have owned two C5's. Both were daily drivers, including my current Z06. Two things come to mind. Corvettes don't always do parking garages very well. If there are abrupt changes in floor angles (abrupt ramp grades) where you park, that could be an issue. If there...
Welcome to the CAC.
I don't have any idea what that car is worth, but I have met Dick a couple of times. He is a very nice man and a major part of Corvette racing history.
You cannot get more energy out of a system than you put in. The amount of fuel needed to convert water to hydrogen and oxygen will be more than you can get back out of it. Some of the energy will be converted to heat. There is no free lunch.
I have driven mine 52,000 miles without a flat. I drove from Idaho to Kentucky once and have made several trips to the ocean, etc. Just make sure that the tires are in good shape and that they are inflated correctly. Also, watch for road hazards. You can put run flats on a Z06 if you buy...
If I remember correctly, oil consumption was associated with certain driving habits. Running high RPM's under light load was a lot of the problem. Mostly, people with automatics will not drive like that.
I am no C3 expert. But it seems that I remember that some of these older calipers need to be resleeved. It has to do with air getting in the system at the caliper?? Is this true?
People have installed hitches on C5's. I know a local guy that did it. He pulls a very small trailer painted to look like his '98 pace car. It is not my cup of tea, but it can be done. And it would not scratch the paint like could happen to one of the strap-on type.
I would disagree about the early C5 vs the late C4. I had a '97 and it had some minor issues, but the C5 is a better platform than the C4. Just my $0.02-
I am not sure about what the price should be.
Welcome to the CAC.
I think this is essentially right-
In 1997, the only Corvette was the targa roof coupe.
In 1998, the convertible was added.
in 1999 (and 2000), the fixed roof coupe was offered.
in 2001, the fixed roof coupe got the LS6 engine and other goodies, and became the Z06. It...
Check it with a voltmeter. Mine was reading in the high 11's on the DIC, but my voltmeter and the battery shop's voltmeter put it more like 12.3 volts.
Here is a thread with instructions on how to get the codes that c4c5specialist is asking about:
