I'm looking for some help from my fellow C5 owners.
I picked up my 2004 from the body shop today (I did a little off-roading a few weeks back), and I'm pretty sure it DIDN'T look like this when I took it in there. Is there a part missing, like the front air deflector?
I don't remember...
Okay, so I only visit here when something is going wrong. At least this time I thought to come here BEFORE I took the car in for service.
While coming home from work, the clutch went from normal feeling to stiff over the course of one red light. After getting home, I checked the fluid in the...
Since I'm sure everyone is on pins and needles waiting to see how this turned out...
It ended up with the dealer replacing the steering column lock actuator and steering lock relay, to the tune of $750. Apparently they had already taken everything apart Friday afternoon, and by the time I...
Thanks for the input. Once I get the car back from the dealer, I'll check it out myself.
Water intrusion shouldn't be an issue. He's a garage king, and doesn't get to play in the rain.
I'm very suspicious of the battery now, especially after reading up on the interweb. I get the "service...
Okay, I know this topic has been beat to death, but...
I've got a manual 04. A little while ago I started getting the "Service Column Lock" warning, but the wheel WASN'T locking. That is, it wasn't failing in the locked position. I've taken the car to the dealer, and they are telling me that...
Okay, I might show my ignorance here...or my inability to use the "Search" function on the site.
Anyway, one of my recent random thoughts involves adding a turbo or supercharger to a C5. Is this even an option? Has anyone done this? Does anyone have an idea of the cost involved?
Like I...
Thanks, I needed a laugh. For some reason this one struck me as funny...you driving down the road with one hand on the wheel and the a staple gun in the other... ;LOL
Can anyone give me any advice on good dealers in the MD/VA/DC area to take my vette in for work? I bought mine at a dealer 2.5 hours away, and I'm getting tired of driving that far every time a recall comes up.
Also, what has been everyone's experience with loaner cars when taking in your car...
Okay, I'm trying not to get on my soapbox here.
For the record, I'm not adamantly for front plates either (since both states I've lived in require them), but I always feel a need to apply logic...
Printing front plates backwards rather than forwards really makes no sense either way. If an...
I know this is a simple question, but I'll ask anyway...
I'm assuming the trim on the dash (specifically around the radio) just pops off, right? I noticed the other day that the trim in my 04 seems to be loose in the upper right corner by the radio...and that there is probably a quarter inch...
I live in a state that requires the front plate too, so I've got mine on there too. In all honesty, I don't think it looks all that bad, especially when I compare it to all the other cars on the road that have the front plate brackets that look like an afterthought.
I have yet to hear of...
Probably a good idea...I think my LeMans blue was a premium color, but it is kind of hard to decide if it is worth $300, because I wanted blue regardless...not like there is a cheap blue and an expensive blue. :)
If I'm not mistaken, that is referring to one of the "premium" colors. (I think red...can't remember which, yellow, and blue on the C5.) I remember reading somewhere that the premium colors use a tinted clearcoat, which gives it a "deeper" look.
For the record, my degree is in Aero Engineering...when it comes to "breaking", there is no degree needed, only a quick stop at the local Taco Bell. :D

Just a comment here that no one should hold me responsible for...
If the trooper is going 50 in a 55, PASS HIM! That is the whole point. I used to work for more than one PD, and one cop told me his highway strategy was one of two things:
a) Cruise at 10 over...if anyone passes him, they get...
I'm assuming that we don't need to have the whole "radar detector discussion," but the range that your detector works can depend on many factors...some guns are designed to only emit when the gun is being "fired," so if Smokey decides to wait and gun that shiny new Vette coming around the bend...
I would have to agree with jg. I have had a Solo for longer than I can remember. I knew that if I got a corded model, I would never use it...going cordelss was a great decision. Mine is an older model, but I am quite happy with it, the batteries do last an amazingly long time...at least in my...
