Turns out that Slickman and I live about 15 miles apart. I'm gonna take a trip down that way some Friday night and we're gonna chat for a bit.


As for freakin' out. Yeah, that's kinda strange. I'm originally from PA too. WAY over on the western side though. (Conneaut Lake/Meadville to be exact)

I don't know..., but that hiding in the woods with radar just doesn't sound legal. I don't know about above the Mason-Dixon Line, but down South we wink our lights to alert on-coming traffic that the Troopies or the Local-Yokels are out trying to beef up their petty cash funds!

Speed traps are such a bother. I swear, traffic just flows better when everyone is going 70+. 55mph is a joke. As long as Maw-Maw, Paw-Paw, Big Daddy, Big Mama get the RVs and the 1960s-something Plymouth Valiant outta the way (or speed up), everything is cool.

Down here, we'll get that occasional Trooper with nothing better to do than make everyone dive for the right lane so he/she can speed to the front and proceed to go 50mph in a 55zone or 68mph in a 70zone. Now that'll truly **** you off.

nope. Nothing like that up this way. These suckers are sneaky and nothing illegal about it. If the speed limit's 65 they usually won't bother you if you're running less than 75 but I wouldn't want to try and organize a Gumball run.

Just a comment here that no one should hold me responsible for...

If the trooper is going 50 in a 55, PASS HIM! That is the whole point. I used to work for more than one PD, and one cop told me his highway strategy was one of two things:
a) Cruise at 10 over...if anyone passes him, they get pulled over.
b) Cruise at 10 under...if someone avoids passing him, they get pulled over.

If I came upon a trooper driving significantly under the speed limit, I would set my cruise control at the limit, and pass him. Chances are that he is driving under the limit so that he doesn't have a parade behind him.

(No complaints if you listen to me and get a ticket!)
