DRIVING CORVETTES IN SNOW
I'm on my 4th Corvette, 1 C3, 2 C4's and my current C5. I have driven all 4 as daily drivers, EVERY day of the year in Chicagoland for the past 26 years. Never been stuck, but close a couple of times. This year has been particularly snowfilled, but I get to work every...
Lately, it seems as if my HUD is very difficult to see on bright sunny days. Having had the HUD for a few years, I'm aware that there is an auto brightness feature when driving directly into the sun. It seems that it used to get brighter when heading into the sun, but now it appears to stay the...
That picture is scary, real scary. My C5 is Silver, I park on the right hand side and my wife's Acura is the very same color as your other car in the garage. The scariest part is the outside light on the garage, I have the very same lights on my garage.

DEALER INVOICE PRICING
Hey people, what is so magical about Dealer Invoice. If a dealer will let you look at his invoice, then you can be assured that that is NOT his true cost for that vehicle. I don't really care about dealer invoice, I care about getting the best deal i can, and the secret...
Interesting that you paid $600. I assume that was for the complete unit. I purchased a brand new one from the factory for $300. I am also amazed that it took you 1.5 hours to do the job. I had mine installed by a factory trained chevy tech and it took him more like 5 hours because he had to pull...
There is a sensor, and when driving in the direction of the sun, it automatically brightens the display so it can be read easily in the direct sunshine. The moment that you move out of the direct sunshine, it will go back to it's original brightness setting.

First, I ALWAYS use the HUD. With the steering wheel where it's most comfortable, I cn't see the top of the speedo, and that's when I need to see it most, in excess of the 55 MPH limit. Infrequently, if the sun is just right and I'm going in the right direction, that causes the display to wash...
C5's IN THE SNOW
Well, this will be my 3rd winter in a C5. This year I have new All Weather Michelins, but the last couple of years I was using the original factory tires. Here in the Chicago area, we don't get a lot of snow, if a yearly average of 33 inches isn't a lot of snow. We do get some...
I really love the HUD in my car, but there is a small problem I'd like to address. In bright sunlight, when the sun is either to the side or the rear, the HUD is a little difficult to see because it isn't bright enough. I do have the manual control all the way up on full. However, when driving...
HOW MANY TAKE A VETTE OUT IN THE RAIN
Not only do I drive my Vette in the rain, gasp, but I also drive it in the snow here in Chicagoland. Oh, gasp, and I've been doing that for 25 years!!!!!

SELF DIMMING MIRROR
It's easy to install except, the connector is completely different. You need to purchase the connector and rewire it properly.

I would like to install the PKE system on my 04 Vette. I know that it was discontinued because of problems, so if you feel that I'm making a mistake wanting to do this, I'd like to hear what the problems were. The real question is can it be installed on my 04 C5
Silverstreak04
Now that we've established that the PKE was available in early C5's, but discontinued later, was the discontinuation due to many "issues" with the system. I'd like to add it to my 04, but I don't need any additional or potential "issues".

Thanks for the quick reply. I may have been in error that PKE was available on the C5. I too had heard of problems and that it was discontinued, but I never checked it out. The Mercedes E Class has a version that works well, and I've seen that there is an aftermarket kit available. Thanks again...
I alwys thought the PKE was a good idea, but it apparently as discontinued and the later C5's. What was the issue and is it possible to "upgrade" a 04 model to PKE?

Headlite Alignment
I did notice 2 different long what I think are adjusters. The one to the inside of each lite can be accessed by removing the circular door that you do a 1/4 turn and remove. You don't have to remove the entire bezel to access. It doesn't seem to do much other than it appears...
Headlight Alignment
Well, if that's the adjuster that you can get to thru a round access door on the black surround bezel, it doesn't do that on my car, as I've tried it. I also saw another similar adjustor further in and lower that can only be accessed with the black surround bezel removed. I...
