I'm replacing the lower ball joints on my '72 Stingray. The driver's side ball joint has a grease fitting, the passenger side does not, and, the "bolt head" does not have a place to install one.
Did the originals have the grease fittings. Just wondering.
Sounds like the switched wire (green) was disconnected while the antenna was fully extended. If you can't find the antenna wires under the dash, you can crawl under the car, find the antenna wire connectors (at the rubber grommet that goes into the car's interior), disconnect them, apply a 12...
I just repaired mine. I used a battery charger (12 volts). My antenna has two wires, red and green. The red wire must have a constant 12 volts. The green wire connects to a switched radio output of 12 volts ( a battery lead that when the radio is turned on you get a 12 volt output).
Connect the...
One of the members of the Classic Glass Corvette club in Marietta referred me to a shop in Powder Springs - American Corvette, Inc. 770-943-2530. I haven't used them, I try to do all the work myself.
Good luck.
On my '72, I seem to remember that the heater core (box) was held in place by welded bolts through the firewall. All I had to do was remove the nuts from under the dash that held the core in place. Hope this helps.
Check the power steering control valve. A common failure is the seal between the fluid side of the valve and the grease side. Mine failed recently - the fluid was red because the PO used ATF instead of the proper PS fluid. I purchased a new valve from ZIP and now all is well.

The Lexan can be scratched, and it looks terrible. I replaced my rear glass by finding a local glass shop. I paid $75 - the shop cut and installed the glass on my frame.

Are you sure the gas isn't coming from around the fuel pump? If you are driving and the pump's hose connections are leaking (under pressure), the gas is blown back towards the passenger compartment and will drip there. Just a suggestion.

Does anyone know of a way to adjust the mechanical dash clocks on a C3? I have a '72 Stingray, and just removed, cleaned, oiled, burnished the contacts and reinstalled the dash clock, and it runs great. Now it's beginning to run too good - I'm gaining about 5 minutes every three days. I didn't...
Tail Light Modification
I like your light locations. I was trying to decide where to place mine, and found pre-threaded mounting hole under the bumpers, so, that's where they went. But I've been thinking lately that inside the tag shroud would be a lot less noticeable.

[/IMG]I installed bullet type tail light lenses, modified the wiring so all four lights lite during braking, and both tail lights flash when the turn signal is activated. I then installed low wattage fog lamps under the bumpers as my backup lights. Looks good and works great. I may eventually...
Chas, Thanks for the info and pictures on your tail light modifications. I have the bubble lights, but not the wiring to modify the back-up light. I am going to install this modification but I have a couple of questions before starting.
I'm not quite sure why you had to file down the bulb? Were...
