I looked at my manual tonight, and found something interesting to add, "Wiper motor speed is controlled by the section of the wiper switch connected to the wiper motor (91 circuit) The wiper motor operates at LOW speed when its shunt field coil is grounded through the 91 circuit. The...
Is anyone running aftermarket oil pans in a 80 - 82 years, and what kind are they? I'm putting together a new motor and I don't have any idea what will fit. Are standard chevy small block oil pans the same, or is the vette different.
thanks!:)
Ron
After you figure out which gasket you need, make sure you spray all the bolt holes out with cleaner, and maybe chase the threads, and clean the bolts. When you install the new gasket be sure to use some thread locker on the bolts and torque to spec so they don't come loose. I use a long straight...
Hey Andy, on your car I doubt that these are still on the factory way. You will have to get in behind to see what's going on. I've seen them stuck on with just about everything. I put the rear CORVETTE emblem on with a little dab of silicon on each post with the factory nuts to keep it from...
Bob, that looks good! I'll have to check it out more at the show. I've been following some of the things you have been doing to the car over the last year on the board, we'll have to talk this weekend, I would love to here what you think of all the improvements.
Not sure about driving someones pride and joy:Steer but the ride would make my day! I'll be at the hotel Thurs. night to check you guys out, and have some cool :beer drinks with you all!
Great Lou, I'm looking to get something that doesn't have use the bolts on the valve covers. I had them on my Camaro years ago and they never seemed to stay tight, but those where the days before loctite, and the brains to clean the bolt holes of all the oil!
I'm looking for some ideas on routing spark plug wires. I've used the stock location of down the back of the block, thru the channel, to the plugs, but this no longer works for me.:r I would love to run them on top with brackets, but there are soooo many out there I can't decide what would work...
Try all of the obvious stuff first, make sure the thermostat is opening up, and there is good flow in the new radiator. Did you repalce the seals around the radiator that channel the air thru it, instead of around it into the engine? Check for hoses that are collapsing, ( I have had cheep after...
I just did a little local road trip on all the back roads to the fair grounds, and the all look good! No fresh tar and chip places, and RT 114 off I 81 has construction, but should not be to bad come show time
Ron
I would check all your basics, tire pressure, look for fluid inside wheel, jack up front wheel and check for wheel bearing play, and any of the other common things before you assume its the caliper. My 80 pulled to the right when I used the brakes after I replace the calipers, turned out to be a...
