Exactly what I would and am doing...
Leave the motor alone....for now.
Yank the pollution crap (if able), Chip it, Work the exhaust (headers and long tubes out the rear), and call Procharger. www.procharger.com
Have fun!
I personally don't like the Z06. I think the stripped down, non-removable top, no creature comforts idea sucks.
I do like the 400+ Hp, wheels, and logo's.
IF they made a Z06 Convertable with the 500+ hp I would buy one without even looking at the sticker. It would be mine and only mine...
Im sure the automatic locking mech can be disabled via a scanner/programmer device. But all Im glad to hear is that there is a manual handle for release
I JUST went through this BULLS%^T
Original died...replace it in the middle of no where with a junk rebuilder one
Died..
Had my supplier in town supply me a 140 Amp Chrome
It Would NOT charge at idle only at 2000 rpm Plus
WTH..
Send it to MY super duper rebuilder He laughs and says...
My Dad is seriously considering getting back into a Vette (His forth) but the thing that scared us was the interior door handle!!
Where is it??
I read on the forum that it is a electronic switch....WHAT!! What happens in an accident and the battery gets killed or cut off or lets say a bad...
I don't know what K&N says and I really don't care but when you buy these filters....clean em out....
After its dry reoil the OUTSIDE ONLY!!!!!! SO many people oil the inside of the filter and all that does it help a LITTLE with filtration but most of the excess on the fibers end up on you...
Old man say what they don't know, don't hurt em.
Run your "true Dual" exhaust and in place of the Cat run your pipes. Now GUT the cat entirely and slip it over your fancy exhaust and weld it into place. It Looks like its there and with resonators in it sounds like its there....But it ain't...
The tanks are "lacking" splash baffles in the tank (famous chev) so G-Force will play a huge role in the tank. Similar with drag racers and oil pans, they want massive pans with baffles so the engine doesn't run dry with accelerating.
When you do your spark plugs do a compression test this may tell you that your pistion rings are worn out. Also throw a master oil pressure gauge on it while doing this. This will rule out any possible oil/combustion leaks except for valve seal which ALWAYS go on these engines...mine included...
Common problem is the bridge connector between the two circut boards.
If you remove the tin backing you will see a 1 inch long by 1/4 inch white plastic bar. If you look under that circut board you'll see the leads go up into that plastic piece and commonly get loose and short out.
Try...
My experiences say that the knocked off or broke off the steel/rubber vaccum line behind the plenum when they did the dist.cap....Ive done it myself actually.
If the transmission is just a few drops then it could as simple as them not cleaning after themselves.
Take it to a lube shop and...
Personally, the car seems "high" caliber so I would REMOVE the orginal bumper and put on a aftermarket one painted to match (you can't tell the difference) Then go ahead and cut the Fog light into the bumper. Just don't hack up the original!!
If you can't lower the front I'd try to get the rear level with the front myself. The cars Ive seen "up" in the front like that are tuner dragsters (front wheels driving Hoosiers....ugh)
No Idea they sure made it sound like I was ordering something special! so far they are very nice and very comparable to my XGT V4's I had on there before (only for half the price!)
Gotta round up some pictures still
FINALLY got my rims in and may I say SWEET!
They are CHROME I wasn't expecting that at all!! And they are perfect in all details!!
I had the Falkens put on and balanced internally and when they were done there was hardly and weights in there! The machine shop balanced them perfectly! Also...
Im gonna ask why? Are you mounting a early C4 roof on a late? the hardware of the late models is FAR better for shifting and noise. (Trust me I own the early one and HATE it) Im going to change to a glass top with the late model hardware.
I remember a few years ago Motor Trend or one of those high up the ladder magazines did a worlds fastest car thing and had Mario Andretti do the driving.
Mclaren, HKS Toyota, Ferrari were all there and also J.Lingenfelter with two vettes one C4 and one C5 done up to the max!
After driving...
