1962 Corvette Restomod

I remember that Akai tape recorder. It was very high tech for the day.

"62

Hi Roger,
Good luck with your new "62!! I love it.
I think you need LED lights around your headlights like mine though.
I saw 5 3/4 " HALO universal headlights on E-BAY for sale, they were flourescent not LED's.
P.S. my wife and I are looking into buying a house around Aiken,S.C. We have friends that moved there from N.J. We will be visiting them first week in March to look the area over.
If all goes well, we will be joining the Carolina's chapter of the SACC. with you and Fred.
Here in N.J. we live in the least desirable retirement state. Taxes are just going to get worse, we heat the house with oil also. Couldn't leave before now because of the grand kids . Now they are old enough to take care of themselves.
Ed

My wife ordered her '77 T/A with an 8 track so when she ordered her '81 Corvette she got that with the 8 Track also. Still works just fine. She also has a working portable 8 track up in the closet.

Tom

Hey Ed - missed seeing you at the SACC Convention held at Kissimmee Florida a few weeks ago.
I saw lots of cruiser cars in Old Town at night with lots of LED lights and I thought of you.
I hear Aiken is a nice place to retire - but so is Chapel Hill/Raleigh NC area.
If you get down this way that would be great.
Look us up on our website: The Carolinas Chapter of the Solid Axle Corvette Club :w
Roger

Got the plates for the car yesterday afternoon. Today was a nice sunny day for a drive. :w

Roger,

If I'm not mistaken I believe the 62 was built by a fellow by the name of Gerald Copland. Great looking car. Congratulations on your new ride.

Rich

Rich,
Yes, you are correct. When I bought the car, I received several Trophies and magazines about the car that Gerald built.
I need to try to get hold of him to see if he can give me more information about the car. I would like to see build photos and more history.
She still looks brand new top and bottom. What a great job. :w

Before he built the red 62, he built a sweet looking silver 62.

Driving your new Vette

Hi Roger ,
I wish I were driving my Vettes during the winter, there is SO much salt on the road here now on the roads because it hasnt rain for qiute a while , it is suppose to get up to 60 today or tomorrow, first time . I still have about a foot of snow on my lawn. I normally do not go anywhere with the car until May. I have a black SUV and it is white now.
Thursday we will be heading towards your area, we have friends in Pinehurst , we will be staying there for two days, then we will be heading further south to Aiken, will be staying there for two days. That couple has two old Corvettes, a C1 & a C-2. From there we will be heading further south again .
Hope the weather stays good.
Ed

Ed, you will really like Pinehurst. It is a beautiful area even if you don't play golf. :w
Enjoy your visit and come back to stay.
Wish we knew you were coming this way, we could have arrainged a get together with Fred and some others from our CC SACC.

Roger

We found a nice cabin to visit in the woods. :w

if it was my car (which it isn't), I would take the rear shocks and put them at the bottom mounting location to lower the car a bit in the back as long as the tires fit comfortably under the wheel wells.....

Firstgear - I like the way your car looks also. :w
But I do like the "Old School" look that my 62 has. I may play around with the settings from time to time. If so, I will post photos.

Sure can see out of the 62 top better than the 54. :w
The 54 has about the same with the hardtop as the convertible.
