Ok I know this problem is very frequent. My issue is baffleing me and my dad, we've replaced the relays and checked fuses. Both fans still refuse to work. The only thing I can think of is the fans but it seems highley unlikely both fans would quit simultaneously. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem may be? Thanks for any help figuring this out. So everyone knows it is a 1996 corvette coupe with a lt1 once again thanks.

If you've checked all fuses and did a relay replacement, let me ask:

In the 1996 Factory Service Manual there is a Section on cooling fans which contains diagnostic instructions on how to test/troubleshoot the fan system.

Have you run those tests?

If not, I'd do that because, that you've already replaced the relays and that did not solve the problem, indicates that "guessing" outside of the service manual tests may only get more expensive.

A simple test

Do you have a 12 volt motorcycle battery ( with clip leads & fuse ) ?
try powering the fans directly to see if they spin.... simple, cheap & telling....

Do you have a test light... is there power getting to the fan ?

Have you checked that there is power going in & out of that fuse ?

Are you aware of what a fusible link is ?

Yes to all of the above questions although i think the fusible was bypassed by the previous owner. So everyone knows the fans were working fine and just up and randomly quit.

thanks

Thank u for helping me with this I can't in good faith sell this car when the fans aren't working. If it won't:mad me outside I'd be workin on my monte carlo ss. But later on I will test everything again and check the fusible link.
