A Corvette Fan Remembered

I don't want to make this a big deal but I want to share this with my friends.

She loved my car. When it rolled onto her driveway she just stood there, smiling, and always said "What a beautiful car" When I asked her to drive it was a quick shake of the head and "No!!"

It was special because she was born and raised in Bowling Green, Ky, and her son was special to her too. She passed on peacefully on Dec. 27th.

Call your mom.

The end of 2005 wasn't a good one for my family either. Lost my 15 year old niece to a car accident and my wife's uncle died in the hospital several weeks after surgery.

Great advice we should all take Tim, "call your Mom." I'll add in any loved one with Mom to this advice. Things can happen so quick...in the blink of an eye... Do your best to tell those close to you that you love them and never hold anger longer than...(for the life of me, I can't think of any approperiate time limit to this), because life is too short and regret is one of the worst "pains" to live with.

I send my deepest condolances. Your pain is also mine as I lost my mom this year. But you also reminded me of her and my dad pulling up into my driveway with the top down on their 60 vette both wearing matching blue Corvette jackets. (Which I still have) There is something about a vette that brings up found memories. May we always remember our parents. I know that I am leaving my kids with their memories of me as I drive up in their driveways in the vette or on the motorcycle. May God bless you with the joy of your memories.

Thank you all for the kindest of words. She was 74 and crackalackin' right up to the instant of her death. I hope I can go out full throttle used up and smokin'!

It has shuffled my priorities. You have to be related but you don't have to be friends, and we were. Born in the middle of the Depression she saved everything with no debt, a true anachronism these days.

I have never met most of you, and that makes your compassion even more overwhelming. She would want us to get it together and live each second like we stole it!
