Warning! bad drive belt tensioner on 87 callaway twin turbo

replaced the alternator on my 87 callaway. Took the tension off replaced the alternator put the belt back on and started it up. after a minute it started making a noise. I took a long screwdriver and applied some pressure and the noise stoped. Anything special about replacing it ?

IIRC, the tensioner in a Calloway incorporates the turbo drain-oil scavenge pump. It's not a straight forward change-out. Probably expensive, too. It would probably be prudent to positively identify the source of the noise before replacing parts.
