Hi all,

Finally got my first Vette! 2001 Coupe, Black/Oak/etc. Pic soon as it stops raining here in Atlanta.

Well I checked all the codes and I think no one has ever cleared them. All in all I have 19 codes, all have an "H" at the end and many are duplicates (U1064,U1096,U1016. U1255). These appear to be communication related.

The three that concern me are:
P1431 - Fuel Sensor
B0521 - Track Signal Malfunction
B2203 - Rt. Window Switch

I also get the Service Tire Sensor (or something like that) each time I start the car cold. Warm starts, it does not show up.

I would like to know if I can clear all these? What do you think??

Thanks
Chet

HI there,
You can clear them, however, your tire pressure symptoms are not clear.
If you are getting a service tire pressure sensor message, that tells me that the RFA module must have other codes in it, to cause this.
As for your codes listed, the 1431 shows an intermittant gas gauge reading, which may be cured with a reprogram of the PCM.
The others, when cleared, I would only concern myself with those that come back.

c4c5, thank you very much. I have lurked here quite awhile reading your posts and if no one lately has thanked you for your generosity in helping others, let me do so now! Thanks.

The RAF codes as as above in the duplicates and one I forgot to put down: BO RFA V1000 H.

I believe I read that I can clear the codes by pushing reset after they all display, no more codes message.

As this car is 1 day new to me, I don't want to pull the battery terminal until I'm sure I can get the radio to come back and I'm not sure what else might be reset that I don't have a setting for.

Thanks, MerryXmas

Chet

Hi there,
Your U1000 is your key here. I would ask if your keyless entry is working correctly??????
Also, do you find that sometimes, you get tire readouts, and then other times, you do not?????
As for the other codes, normal communications codes will be 1016,1064, and 1096, which as you noted, will be found at other points in the system.
So, as you have said, you can clear the codes, without removing the negative battery terminal. When all codes show, and then you see 'manual diagnostics', you will see the PCM first, then the 1 code, or the like. Once you see this, push and hold the reset button, and they will clear.
To go to your next module, push the 4 button once for each module, and do the same thing.
If you need further information, let us know, c4c5:hb

The keyless entry seems to work fine. Seats adjust, light come on doors unlock, etc.

Except when I get that message, when ever I set the DIC to show the tire pressure, it reads fine!

One thing is I did put air in the tires as it was showing 25-26 all around. I topped them up to 30 according the my tire gauage, but the monitors show about 2lb less. Is that normal (a llittle thread creep here)

BTW, did you see my post about the bulb under the hood?

Thanks
