Our Club had its first road cruise today. About 20 cars showed up. Weather was sunny, mixed clouds with the high temp about 50F. We shunned the four lanes and took a 120-mile route on country twisties connected by small towns full of people who cheered us on. God, kids love Corvettes! Lunch was at a country inn and just full of fat and cholesterol that we do not wish to admit we love. One of the specialities was RCMP: royal canadian mashed potatoes with gravy. I stuck with a buffalo burger. We had C2-C6 representation, with mine being the only C2. It was a good start to our season with no incidents or breakdowns.
The 1967 ran very well and certainly attracted a lot of attention in the inn parking lot. As did all the cars of course but we know C1s and C2s do have a certain allure for people. Gas is a concern for this summer I believe. I probably went through close to 10 gallons and here the price is getting close to $5.25 a gallon ($1.15 per liter) for 93 octane. Mais, c'est la vie.
