87 convertible, found either a rat's nest or some kind of insulation between my intake manifold and the engine, injector bay area.

Is this normal?

I"m asking because i never saw that on my 88. And this insulation or whatever its is, is coming apart, its like some kind of asbestos or some other material. Perhaps fiberglass in a form that resembled cotton almost.

Anybody know anything about this?

Thanks much :w

insulation beneath intake or rat's nest?

no its not the silver wrapped insulation around egr tube.

It's directly under the intake kind of towards the front of the engine, just back of the intake throttle body area...

very wierd stuff, its coming apart and coming out a little. maybe tomorrow i can take a pic and post it here.

sure wish somebody knew if it is supposed to be there or not ...lol ;LOL

thanks for reply:w

It's a mouse nest. Use some grabbers and remove it and in a week it will be back. It will keep happening till you get rid of the mice!

mouse nest in garaged car?

i agree that it probably a mouse nest,

wierd its jammed up real good under there, doesnt seem to be enough room for the mouse too.

looked at pics of other engines online, dont see anything it could be but a mouse nest

thanks
