I think that was Louisville where that happened. At least that's where we had to waite on you to catch up. We sailed right through Indy to Damons.

and to top it off when we caught up with the rest of the pack they almost made a wrong turn and got off in Louisville instead of heading south, there were Corvettes going in all directions for a while

Just remember when you are leading this year when you pass the Concrete Lady on the west side of 65 to move the pack to the left lanes and you will be OK

Talk About Carnage...

I was in a 50 Vette caravan headen to BG for the 10th anniversary. I was following a C-3. We were clippen along at the Speed Limit in the far left passing lane( )...When he the C-3 runs over a 4X4 block of lumber about 6 ft long.

Now... the way he hit it is hard to discribe so you'll have to use your brain here.

The 4X4 was laying almost north and south ....we were going north let's say.
The tire and wheel contacted this hunk of death by the outer wheel bead on the rim of the wheel. ..Picture That????

Ok ..now the Hunk of death is compressed down by just the wheel rim bead and as the C-3 pass's over it ......it jumps up into the air about 10 feet and starts to desend as I pass under it..

As it came down I drove directly under it and could see the friggen termites crawlen on that sucker. It missed me by a C hair and went into the right lane and bounced onto the shoulder.

That's when the vette's with active handeling did there thing. Ther was smoke and squealing tires behind me and Vette's going every which way.
Everyone pulled into the next rest stop and took a breather. The C-3 that had hit the 4X4 had it's rim bent and he had to change out the tire and wheel.

Now that was carnage......

I am so glad you found the cause of your problem. Your diligence in getting to the root of this is a fine example for us all. I wish I had a nickel (US $ :L) every time I found a loose / corroded battery cable OR a choke pull-off misadjusted. How about a choke spring installed in the choke housing BACKWARDS?

You have to check the basics first!

I did notice a dramatic drop since January. I might get all the way to 15 at 80 mph now.

It's like driving a different car. It got worse gradually, but with the sudden fix, I now see how flakey it was getting.

She's like a spirited colt, boys, so stand back.

Speaking of Fuel Milage.. I turn 2150 RPM's in 5th which = 70MPH.. I think I'm at around 14 mpg if I keep my foot out of it when passing Metal.. Yeah..I know ...It's hard not to pass metal..:L

What's your RPM @70 mph..???
